What causes indoor air pollution?

Many common products may create inferior indoor air quality in your Fort Worth home.

This includes:

  • Substances in [carpet, furniture and drapery that emit fumes
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Paint
  • Personal care products
  • Air fresheners and candles

Though they are often more efficient, newer homes don’t ventilate the way older residences do. Snug weather stripping and storm doors keep interior air in and exterior air out. This provides higher energy savings, but the limited exchange of outdoor and indoor air can cause particles building up inside.

When this happens, a whole-house ventilation system is suggested. Ventilation systems exchange polluted interior air for fresher outdoor air without sacrificing energy savings.
